Unleash Your Creativity With Custom Canvas Printing

In just about any home, you will see photographs on display – usually of family and loved ones, often holiday images or memories of special events – weddings and other celebrations. More and more people are now using custom canvas printing to ‘upgrade’ these important and personal images by converting their photographs – committing these photos to canvas is a great alternative to photo frames for display. There are many ways to display these versatile and different canvas images around your home – and you can be as inventive and creative as you want– here are some alternative ideas for canvas prints:

Vintage Photos

Everybody likes looking at old photos – especially the black and white prints and the even older sepia photos – they always invoke a nostalgic air about them. Transferring old images to canvas makes great displays for any room in the house.

Childhood Memories

Every family will have a collection of ‘artwork’ their kids have created in school, from drawings to items created from paper mache, and such, which they have lovingly retained and displayed! The problem with these things though is how long to keep them and where they can be displayed? One great use for custom canvas printing is to photograph the items and create a single canvas from the image – this way you can capture multiple items and display them long after you have had to dispose of the original articles. Similarly, many of us have retained items from our own schooldays and childhood – those things your parents couldn’t bear to part with, and you have continued to keep them for the same reason. These can also be transferred to canvas and preserved in that way – that way, you can look at these things and remember past times whilst the canvas adds a “homely” feel to your surroundings.

Create A Collage

Create a theme and choose the images you want to transfer to canvas – perhaps family photos over the years, pictures from a specific event or destination – whatever your theme, choose the images you want and decide on a ‘priority’ in which you want them displayed. You can use canvases of different sizes and shapes to make the display more interesting – choose which image is to be the main picture and design a display of smaller images around it to produce the best visual effect for your collage. Consider using monochrome pictures – especially suitable for family photographs or events from some time past – these can take on a more artistic and ‘sophisticated’ look reproduced on canvas in black-and white! Alternatively, if the images are of exotic destinations – holiday beaches, sunsets, and such – then full colour images displayed on large canvases can be spectacular and uplifting!

Collections

Other collections of photos can establish an interesting and meaningful display – perhaps images of family members in chronological order, or images of certain people at different stages as they have grown and progressed over the years? A collection of your children’s graduation photos or similar can form a uniform and informative display. Consider ‘collectable’ themes – maybe you have a collection of sports trophies won over the years that takes up valuable shelf space around the house and can be captured in one shot and displayed that way! Likewise with a collection of coins, cards or pottery that make great still life subjects for a photograph that can be converted to a large canvas print and showcased.

Other Ideas

Many people have kept old recipe books that their mother used, including a couple of handwritten recipes she kept with them – these old recipe sheets in her handwriting make a lovely nostalgic canvas print that invokes fond memories, as well as looking great on the kitchen wall! Another inventive, and unusual, use of canvas prints would be to have enlarged images of wedding celebration materials – perhaps the order of service from a ceremony, or wedding day programs and invitations – they would look great alongside a canvas of the happy couple on their day and make a meaningful display and memory of the whole event!

These are just simple suggestions for using canvas printing to create your display – but you can be as creative as you like with your photos, different sizes and combinations of images to form your spectacular canvas displays!
