Creating A Collage With Canvas Prints
It is not just special occasions like weddings, anniversaries, and birthday celebrations that people like to capture on film. Everyone on holiday, or a break away from home, will return with a plethora of photos and images, especially with today’s modern phone photographic capabilities. There is also a growing number of people making use of professional photographic services – family photo shoots in a professional studio are a popular choice. Whilst most commonly all these images will be captured digitally and stored on laptops, tablets, and data sticks, those that go to development and print will be kept in photo albums and/or displayed in frames around the home.
There is though another display option becoming more and more popular – accessing canvas printing to transfer these images to canvas and hanging them on the walls in your home or office. There are different display options for your enlarged canvas images from single shots to creating a spectacular collage from your images – here are a few considerations for the best display of your canvas prints:
Choose your photos
Your first decision is to choose the images you want to transfer to canvas – it may be pictures from a specific event or destination, or perhaps, as mentioned earlier, a family photo shoot. Whatever your theme, choose the images you want and decide on a ‘priority’ in which you want them displayed – you can create canvases of different sizes and shapes, so choose which image is to be the main picture and design a display of smaller images around it to produce the best visual effect for your collage.
Colour or monochrome display
Some images may be displayed better suited to the full colour in which you have initially captured them – holiday beaches, sunsets, and such, whilst others – perhaps family photos – can take on a more artistic and ‘sophisticated’ look reproduced on canvas in black-and white! Either way, ensure that your overall colour theme remains consistent.
Lighting
You can make your canvas prints display more striking and spectacular with use of lighting – either use designed picture lights or spotlights to accentuate and highlight certain images and elements of your collage display. This way you can create a personal, meaningful, and unique feature wall anywhere in your home.
Collage with a single image
A collage doesn’t have to consist of a number of different images – you can use a single image split over a number of canvas prints! You can recreate a single image, and have it split over two or more ‘panels’ to create a wide display stretched across the wall – this is proving to be a very popular trend as you can select your favourite image and have it enlarged and displayed without completely ‘blanking out’ a huge section of wall. This can create a very artistic and spectacular display that will grace any room.
Remember, you don’t have to hang a complete collage in one go – you can create a small display and add to it over time with appropriate images as they become available. These are just simple suggestions for using canvas printing to create your display – but you can be as creative as you like with your photos, different sizes and combinations of images to form your spectacular canvas collages!
